"Orwell 2K" system functionality |
"Orwell 2K" system operator is free from primary data analysis supplied by video cameras. This happens because video image analysis, target detection and recognition is done by the recognition server.
Binding of Master camera coverage areas to "live" object's map. Information on targets, alarms and situation in real time is traced by symbols onto object's map. The map is built in real distances scale, taking into account 3D distortions of the video image projection. When moving target crosses coverage zones in adjacent or overlapped areas, it's being tagged along with the same ID. Thus, operator always has full picture about overall target condition.
Slave camera manual control is necessary for the convenience of operator's work, that is for easier target acquisition:
- by video image from Master camera binding to map of an object,
- by map of an object, including pseudoimaging of area photographs not covered by Master cameras.
Alarm zone is defined by sets of events triggered by targets of all types and attributes from the DB. Alarm zones are 256 per Master camera and may have arbitrary shape. Additional possible options:
- situation alarm analysis (operator noticed if several alarms match on a target programmed behavior);
- alarm is triggered when the system automatically finds components, that are out of order (hardware malfunction, heavy weather, fog, smoke, glare).
Event recognition (target behavior or targets relative behavior), including:
- detection of abandoned item,
- target lock-up if it stays within coverage zone over predetermined period of time,
- multiple target movement detection within a given vector set,
- repeated contacts of a person with other people.
Embedded recognition system, that allows "teaching the system" to recognize new target types or adopt it for specific conditions (camera type, target angles, brightness conditions etc).

Minimization of false acquisitions of the targets and the alarms quantity, connected with it, that allows to control the all object state (at the quantity of fixed cameras up to several hundreds) by one operator. Furthermore system dejams:
- flash by headlights of the passed cars in the night time;
- shadows availability from the clouds;
- work at dawn, sunset or illumination change;
- grass, bush, tree branches fluctuations;
- moving animals;
- video cameras tremble;
- fog;
- insects.
Adaptation of "Orwell 2K" system to external conditions, influencing on it, operation without operator (backlight system control in a case of an illumination level change or switching on the image stabilization mode in case video cameras tremble etc).
Furthermore the following information is saved automatically in DB:
- system components state;
- failure of system operation due to external conditions (smoke, fog, cameras flash availability etc).
Unlimited quantity of the client applications, where information about an object state can be transferred over GPRS networks on PDA.
Multi-language support of the system client application.
